It was more than a bit of side boob...oh boy!!

I had an entirely different topic in mind to write about this morning, but when life gives you good material ya gotta go with it! I believe this is my most embarrassing Momma moment to date, and I'm not even sure I can blame it on my boys!!!

After breastfeeding Chunk this morning, I realized that I was running late getting Minion to school and with only 2wks left I really want him to finish strong! So I grabbed my flippy flops, tossed Chunk onto my shoulder and headed out with Minion, making sure he had on the proper shoes, backpack and daily planner in hand, and grabbing his class snack.
The construction workers were back at it working hard creating freshly painted bright yellow lines on the freshly paved road, as we're walking by they all say "Good Morning!" with such bright smiles and augusto, which has me thinking to myself "Man, I really need more coffee!!". Once getting Minion to the crossing guard and saying our goodbyes, Chunk and I head back home, once again walking past the construction workers, all of whom have such great big smiles on their faces...till I walk past the last gentleman and he says "Ma'am, I'm sorry to tell you this, cause it's kinda embarrassing...but....um...you're showing." I almost said "Excuse me?" till I realized, in my panic to get Minion to school after feeding Chunk, I didn't adjust my bra properly and because of the way I'd been carrying Chunk my shirt had adjusted itself and everyone had full view of...well uh...now we know why the other construction workers were smiling!

We all have embarrassing moments in life, maybe yours isn't accidentally showing a bit of boob to the road crew, instead it could be walking out of the house forgetting nipple pads and leaking all over yourself in the Starbucks when someone else's kid starts crying, or forgetting you have 2 children when leaving the park only to realize it 3 blocks later and having to apologize profusely to your oldest in hopes that they'll never realize you weren't really playing hide and go seek with the car! It's time to be real! We're sleep deprived and when it comes to multi-tasking, we don't just take on 1 or 2 things at a time, we've got a million items on the checklist running thru our minds...making mistakes is part of the experience and any momma who think they're perfect or tries to convince others they are, is only making a fool out of themselves...okay maybe not as big of a fool as I did, but none the less a fool.

Please feel free to share your Mommy Moments with the class, so I'm not the only one that feels like a freak!

  1. OMG I would have been so embarrassed! When Jacob was only a few weeks old, I was holding him in the grocery store check out line and he pulls my entire shirt down, exposing both of my boobs for the store to see. That was mortifying!
